So, providing your dog exposure to different people, experiences, sights, and sounds will make your dog a well-rounded canine! It is better to start socialization training at a young age.

An apt time to start this training is when your puppies are 4 months old. You can start the training by taking it to puppy kindergarten classes and making sure that they meet different things to develop confidence.

Reward-based Training

This training will be productive. And, it will make the stubborn Puggle to be attentive to their master’s commands. As puggles are food-oriented, give them treats as rewards. This breed will also love to make its owners happy as a result of this training.

Agility Training

Generally, meeting your pooch’s needs for nutrition will keep it healthy and happy. Also, it will prevent many health issues. And, you have to decide the food based on your dog’s age, size, and activity level.

High-quality dry dog food will suit Puggle as the food quality will also make a difference in your pooch’s health. Despite the quality, the feeding amount also speaks a lot for your dog’s health.

So, just ensure a few basic things while feeding puggles.

  • Divide the large meals into small portions. And, it is fair if your dog eats small food portions several times a day.
  • Feed your puggle at least twice a day instead of feeding a large, whole meal to it!

Stenotic Nares, also known as pinched nostrils, – Is a congenital disorder (i.e. dogs born with this disease). Puggles with short muzzles are prone to this disease and will find breathing difficult.

You can see noisy breathing and intolerance to exercise as signs of this disease. Some dogs have blue gums as well. In mild cases, this disease is managed with the prevention of obesity, limitation of exercise during hot weather, and using the harness in place of a neck collar. Surgical repair is done in severe cases.

Cherry Eye – The gland in your dog’s third eyelid (called “the nictitating membrane”) bulges. You can see a reddened mass at the inner corner of the dog’s eye. Surgical repair is the treatment for this disease.

Hypothyroidism – The deficiency in thyroid hormone is the major cause of this health issue. Signs include obesity and lack of energy. Your canine’s fur will become brittle and it will experience a loss of hair. Also, the skin will become dark and tough.

This disease can be managed with daily medication. Your pooch should continue medication throughout its life.

Patellar Luxation – A common health condition that is seen in small dogs. It occurs when the patella is not properly lined up. This condition can be present from birth.

It will lead to lameness and your pooch may not be able to walk. Surgical repair is the treatment for severe grades of this disease.

Epilepsy – It is a disorder that will cause seizures. It can be managed with medication but cannot be cured completely.
